However, I'm more than happy to help fund this project with my own $$ to start with and work on seeing if we can get some additional Deaf/HoH individuals to pitch in. I guess this is the correct forum so I'll just throw this out there: I'd like to help with this process even though I have no coding experience. Could someone change the title to reflect this please? Thanks in advance. Deaf or Hard of Hearing will do just fine. I'm going to make a formal request in the request forum.Īlso one last thing, hearing impaired is not the correct term. Anything at this point would be better than what we have now, which is nothing. Let's just see if we can get something working that is practical. Keep in mind, it does not have to be perfect. I would like to see someone undertake this project. It's 2014 and there has got to be some progress relating to speech to text for TS or similar programs.

Here is some example output using the windows speech to text translation (which sucks)Īnd she has lost the lead off the hook and over and then we'll have houses that housing and chorus of that has killed herself The Speech to text program needs to be able to output to file stream, then you can write a quick program that can take that and put it on the screen (either with a teamspeak plugin, or external application). Go into the speech to text program and set Virtual Cable 2 as your listening device. Go into teamspeak playback settings and set virtual Audio Cable 1 as your playback device. To do it create 2 virtual audio cables, use the audio repeater to map Virtual Cable 1 to Virtual Cable 2 It does work with the method I described above BUT:ġ) You need a REALLY good speech to text programģ) Speech to text does not recognize slang (saying things like zerg, wot etc) The answer will probably be no, primarily its too limited use for the amount of resources its going to consume especially if you want it as a server side option. You should be able to push teamspeak audio into a TTS program ( using virtual audio cable ), I don't know how well it will work as it will consume a large amount of resources and on top of that when multiple people talk - unintelligible writing.
